Having seen him flub almost every non-routine fly ball, I am content to roll with Murph/Duda on the right side o' the infield.

When Duda played first last year Ron Darling remarked that Duda was clumsy and lacked quickness and agility. Darling recommended Duda move to the outfield where this would be less of a problem (the important thing is not to confuse quickness and agility with running speed). If you didn’t see him play and just studied the stats you didn’t see his poor footwork, stumbling over his own feet when trying to move quickly, etc. With Duda and Murphy on the right side I pity the Mets pitching staff. Leave Duda where he is. It may take him longer to get there but he seems to catch most routine fly balls.

Speed corrects station to station baseball correct, not power? They don't have any speed options other than Torres and maybe Wright. Maybe they should hit and run more often?

The walls are fine.

I wonder what the runners left in scoring position would look like if you minused out Ike. I do like Salty's suggestion of Duda to first, Kapt K to RF, Torres in CF and I guess Baxter/Spin/Bay in LF.

As for power and the rest of the nonsense... Certainly demote Ike. There is no guy riding in on a stallion, shirtless. Or with a shirt. The only option in a power hitting guy is a Lind or someone like that who is on the outs. But that doesn't solve much, as Lind barely plays 1B. Maybe an OF, move Duda to first until we see if Ike isn't the next Gen K or not.

Nice move by Terry pinch hitting for Ike with Turner against Chapman after the way Ike looked last night against him. Key move to tie the game.

Thinking Hairston as DH, get another right handed bat with some pop in the lineup to break up the Lefties.

Keep Duda fielding, it's his position in RF let him play it.

Wow based on DH comments above didn't really think about that in play on a Ike decision. Might have to keep him around after all. Duda is probably best to go DH is Bay is going to be back.

DH? I'll bet Duda gets a turn or two. Wouldn't be surprised to see either Wright or Murph get a day off in the field either.

Murphy is looking pretty good. Color me surprised.

and as much as the core detests the idea, if they keep getting a ton of guys on base, eventually the dam will burst and the runs will start coming.

and a very, very big win. rights the ship, and sends them on the road in a good mood. Now lets beat the snot out of the AL again.

wonder who benefits the most from the DH? I assume Duda gets some DH duty, with Baxter getting to play?

something else to keep in mind. Most of the NL really kinda sucks (or at least the teams have some significant issues). So not like the Mets are chasing half a dozen power house teams.

so, why not us?!
