There is something about Independence Day and NASCAR that just speaks Americana.  The holiday signifies the gift of freedom, one that some have to fight for in order to keep.

NASCAR has been a big supporter of the holiday, always holding a race around the holiday weekend at the "World's Center of Speed", the Daytona International Speedway.  In the last two decades, teams have in some way honored America, it's armed forces, or special moments in the country by running special paint schemes on cars.

These aren't just done on the weekend of the country's birthday.  Other big weekends many paint schemes have run have been on the Coca-Cola 600 weekend during Memorial Day, as armed forces past and present are honored for their service, and continued service, for America.

Something about a special paint scheme honoring America just stands out among the rest, and have always been ones that are remembered for years down the line.  Others have been done as part of a group setting, honoring all branches of the armed forces at one time.

Each one is unique, and all are remembered.

Here's a look at a few Americana paint schemes that have stood out among the many.
