This should be no surprise.

Bryan started the year out tagging with Kane in what seemed to be a pretty silly storyline.  After Wrestlemania, though, his rise began.  He became the hand-picked opponent of John Cena at SummerSlam for the WWE Championship, and he WON!

From there, Bryan became the centerpiece of the Authority storyline.  He was screwed over by Triple H and Stephanie at every turn, but the fans continued to rally behind him, chanting his name and the familiar "YES!" refrain at most every arena.

Bryan never did recapture the title for more than a night, but there's no doubt in my mind that Bryan is over with fans.  He backs up his status with quality in-ring work, and if given a chance can cut a good promo.  It's no wonder he was voted the 2013 Superstar of the Year in WWE.

What does 2014 hold?  Well, we saw a good hook when he left Raw seemingly on the side of the Wyatt Family.  Hopefully, WWE continues to properly utilize the talent that Bryan has and move him back to the title picture sooner than later.

Honorable Mentions:  CM Punk
